Here are teacher Michael 's bio:

Michael Wogu comes from the Los Angeles area, and is a definite stand out on the dance floor due to his unique style of Salsa and dance in general. Dance because one of Michael¡¯s passions at the age of 12. ¡°Back then my dance style was Street Dance. I believed it to be the only thing worth dancing until I saw some Salsa dancing in a music video. It was beautiful, and passionate. I decided that I had to learn this dance.¡± However it was hard for Michael to start over and learn a new dance. The steps were different; the music was different; and dancing with a partner? This was the hardest of them all for him to get used to. ¡°I remember going to Salsa clubs and feeling completely lost.¡± But Michael didn¡¯t give up; he eventually went down to Costa Rica and enrolled in the most famous dance academy there. ¡°It was there that I was surrounded by Salsa and Latin flavor 24 hours 7days a week and it now was beginning to click.¡± Upon his return to Southern California Michael got involved with some of the best teachers and clubs in his area. Names like Sonia and Bernard from DanceSport California/ Mambo Caliente. Alex Da Silva. Alfredo from Salsa Brava/Salsaneros. Andres from Salsa de la calle, Master Lou from the UCR Salsa Club. Clubs like Caf¨¦ Sevillas, The Mayan, Steven¡¯s Steak House. Michael took many more trips back to Latin America visiting different counties, hitting the best clubs, and cross pollinating the Los Angeles on 1 style with the different styles of those countries. ¡°I became so involved in Salsa that I had started to lose some of my Street Dance skills. One of my friends told me that my dance had softened up and didn¡¯t have the exciting edge as before.¡± It was at that point that Michael started the process of making his own style of dance, combining various elements from different dances. He would listen to different types of music such as Afro Beat, Hip Hop, House, and of course Salsa. He would then try to find the similarities of rhythm in each. A friend and DJ from Funk Pirates Crew saw his style and referred to it as ¡°Afro Barrio¡±. This name stuck and it stands for African rhythm, Latin finesse, Street tested. ¡°If I had to sum up dance the way I see it I¡¯d say that it¡¯s about becoming lost¡lost with the rhythm, lost with your partner, lost in the moment and then trying to go to a place you¡¯ve never been before. If you don¡¯t know now you know¡see you on the dance floor!¡±
