Reggae Dancehall is a rhythmic form of popular Jamaican music that had a major influence on modern Hip Hop.
In Reggae Dancehall, like in Hip Hop, an MC raps over rhythms or beats. Dancehall is unlike traditional Reggae in that it is sped up - it doesn't really sound like traditional reggae at all.
If you aren't familiar with modern dance hall music, think about mainstream artists like Sean Paul or Shaggy.

Reggae Dancehall is a sensual, explosive dance style that uses whole body movements. A lot of moves start from the hips.
Many of the moves of Dancehall can also be found in Afro Dance and Hip Hop. Just like Afro Dance and Hip Hop, Dancehall is a dance style that essentially comes from the street and is therefore less structured. New moves continually appear as dancers improvise and create their own style.
The popularity of dancehall has generated dance moves that help to make parties and stage performances more energetic. Many dance moves seen in hip-hop videos are actually variations of dancehall movements. Examples of such moves are: the Bogle, the Whine Up, the Beyonce Wine, amongst many others.

In our Reggae Dancehall Class, you will learn to perform Lower and upper body waves, the Egyptian whine, ticking, Backwaves, how to do chest isolations, waist isolations, the dutty whine, the bogle, the pepperseed, the butterfly, and many more modern Dancehall moves.
You will learn how to put combinations of those moves together and build your own routines. You will learn to improvise and perform those moves freestyle.
